If you live in the UK, you need to be registered at the Embassy before you can apply for a passport.

Belgian passports are biometric, in accordance with EU regulations. Adults and children aged 6 and over are therefore required to attend an appointment in person to provide their fingerprints (from 12 years old), signature and photo.

Every day at around 9am, as a result of cancellations, some passport appointments are put back online to be rebooked. This currently represents more than ten appointments per day, available in the coming weeks. This is the best way to secure an earlier appointment.

If you are a Belgian resident in the UK, your Belgian passport can be used to enter the UK and the EU until its expiry date.

Once you have received your new passport, don’t forget to link it to your UK immigration status/(pre-)settled status. You may need your old passport number in order to log in to your account, so keep it handy.
