Closure of the Honorary Consulate of Belgium in Southampton

Date:
20 février 2020

We regret having to announce the closure - for personal reasons - of the Honorary Consulate of Belgium in Southampton.

Please find herewith a personal message from Mr Kunti.

Dear Belgians, Friends

It is with regret that I announce my resignation from the Consular office in Southampton. The reason for the latter being a personal one: my wife and I have decided to move back to Belgium to be closer to our families given the arrival of our newest family member, Clara-Johanna.

It was an honour to assist the Belgians in the South of the UK and help put Belgium on the map in the UK technology scene. Getting to know many of you over drinks or during one of your visits was a pleasure and it showed the importance of a Consulate as facilitator and bridge-builder.

If any of you are enthused to succeed me in the role of Honorary Consul of Belgium for the region of Southampton, do reach out to the Embassy of Belgium for more details.

Until we meet again,

Siddhartha Kunti
