Biometric passports in Edinburgh
Do you need a new passport or identity card in the coming months and do you wish to have your biometric data taken in Edinburgh during a visit from the Flying Kit? From 25 to 28 March 2025, the Flying Kit will be organised in the premises of our honorary consul located 2, West Street Penicuik EH26 9DL who is kindly hosting us for the occasion
Please note that you have to be registered with the Belgian Embassy to apply for a new passport.
Procedure
- You need to book an appointment online to have your biometric data taken during the visit of the mobile kit.
- The following should be sent to the Consulate General of Belgium in London, f.a.o. Visit Mobile Kit Edinburgh, 17 Grosvenor Crescent, London SW1X 7EE by the 7th of March 2024.
For the passport

A duly completed and signed passport application (form to be downloaded in Dutch (PDF, 171.39 KB)or in French (PDF, 163.53 KB)).
Please note the form needs to be signed by both parents for minors.

Your old identity card or a copy (Kindly bring your expired identity card at your appointment)

A prepaid self-addressed Special Delivery Envelope. One prepaid self-addressed special delivery envelope will suffice if you apply for several passports. 2 passports = 100gr / more than 2 passports = 500gr.

A proof of payment (bank statement or proof from your bank) of £67,50 for an adult or £31,50 for a minor, made to the account number here below with communication “PPT,NAME”

- eID: Dutch (PDF, 159.21 KB)or French (PDF, 174.16 KB)
- Kids ID: Dutch (PDF, 245.46 KB)or French (PDF, 247.74 KB)
Please note: the form needs to be signed by both parents for minors. -
Your old identity card or a copy (you may exchange it for your new eID on the day of your appointment)

A prepaid self-addressed Special Delivery Envelope. One prepaid self-addressed special delivery envelope will suffice if you apply for several eIDs.

A proof of payment (bank statement or proof from your bank) of £9.00 (Kids-ID), or 18£ (eID) made to the account number here below with communication “ID, NAME”

Children younger than six years old are exempt from submitting their biometric data.

Your current passport remains valid until its expiry date.
