Belgians who have cancelled their registration with the Belgian commune and subsequently have registered with their Embassy abroad, and who are residing in an EU Member State have two options to vote in the European elections :
They can vote for the European list of the EU member state where they are officially residing. For further information please refer to the competent local authorities.
OR they can vote for EU Candidates on the Belgian list: They need to submit a request to the competent local consular post to be able to vote. The selected way of voting as well as the communal list (to which one has chosen to be linked) stays the same as the ones chosen for the federal legislative elections.
Regional and communal elections
Belgian nationals abroad cannot participate. Neither can they take part in consultations such as referendums or consultations of the population.
